Question 4

Question 4

The Correct Answer Is: FALSE

Ezekiel 18:19-20: "19 "Yet you say, 'Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?' Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live. 20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself."

One of the most destructive false doctrines taught by many churches today is that we inherit sin (or the guilt of sin) from Adam.  We do not.  Yes, we inherit the consequences for Adam's sin (physical death, pain in childbirth (for women), and toiling for our food), but we do not inherit sin, the guilt of sin, or any sin nature from Adam or any other person.  Such an explanation is again blame shifting for our own sin.  Children are born innocent in the sight of God.  We only obtain the guilt of sin, when we sin.  We only incur the wages for our sin (spiritual death) when we sin.  The Doctrine of Total Depravity is false and not taught in scripture.
