Question 1

Question 1

The Correct Answer Is: FALSE

Romans 2:5-11: "5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who "will render to each one according to his deeds":  7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness — indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God."

Romans 3:23: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

God is quite clear that everyone who has ever walked on this earth, save Jesus, has sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.  The true God of this universe is a God that will not accept us, while in sin, so when we sin, it means that we were self-seeking, we did not obey the truth, and we did obey unrighteousness.  The reward for following after those things are indignation, wrath, tribulation and anguish.  We may think that we're good people, but if we've ever sinned (and we have), in God's eyes, we're evil people and deserving of this punishment.  The problem of sin must be dealt with.  And God did deal with the problem of sin, through the death of Jesus on the cross.  With Jesus having paid the price for sin, that opened up to man the pathway for the forgiveness of sins.  Therefore, the only reason that men or women don't have their sins remitted, is not because God didn't provide the way, it's because we did not do what God demanded of us in order to receive forgiveness.  We did not obey the truth.  Because of sin, there is something we must do to be saved: and that is obey God's word, as found in the Bible.  If we do this, we will receive eternal life.  If we don't, we will receive eternal punishment.
